The Image Library

Clicking on the Images link in the top navigation takes you to your Image Library.

Searching Your Images

Use the search box to find images in your library. You can search by:

  • Alt text content: Search for words or phrases in your alt text (e.g., blue shirt or product photo)
  • Asset ID: Find a specific image by its unique identifier (e.g., shp-12345 or your custom asset ID)
  • URL: Search by the image URL (e.g., https://cdn.example.com/products)

Search Tips

  • Case insensitive: All searches are case-insensitive
  • Custom asset IDs: If you've set custom asset IDs via the API, you can search for them directly

Image Listings

The Image Library lists all the images which have been processed, along with their alt text, a unique asset ID, and when they were added:

The AltText.ai image library.

Note: When you upload an image file directly from your computer, there is no associated URL and it will be displayed as (direct upload) in the listing.

Exporting your Image Library

If you need a copy of all your alt text data, use our export feature to get a CSV file with the image URLs, alt text, and other properties such as the asset ID and language of the alt text.

Export library interface for downloading alt text data.

  • Go to your Images library, then click the Export button at the top.
  • Enter an email address to receive the file download link, then click Submit.

After a few minutes you will receive an email with a link to download a CSV with all your image data. The link will expire after some time (usually 24 hours) so make sure to download your data before the time limit runs out.

Multi-Language Exports

The export includes all languages that have been generated across your account. Each image is one row, with separate columns for each language (e.g., alt_text_en, alt_text_es, alt_text_fr). The alt_text and language columns show the currently active alt text for each image.
