Frequently asked questions
FAQ
-
Yes. The AltText.ai WordPress plugin has first-class WooCommerce support. It uses your product name, brand, and short description as context when generating alt text, so product images get descriptions like "Black leather Stetson Sundance cowboy hat with rolled brim" instead of generic descriptions like "hat". Alt text generates automatically when you upload product images, and you can bulk-process your existing catalog from the plugin's bulk-generate screen.
-
Yes. The plugin includes a bulk-generate screen that processes your entire media library — including thousands of pre-existing images. You can filter by missing-alt-only, by date range, by attachment type (product vs. post images), or by specific post/product. Bulk jobs run server-side and are safe to leave running on large libraries (20,000+ images is routine).
-
Yes. The plugin reads your focus keyword from Yoast SEO and RankMath and includes it in the alt text generation context. The generated alt text incorporates the keyword naturally when relevant to the image (per Google's image SEO guidance), without keyword-stuffing. No additional configuration is required — if Yoast or RankMath is active and a focus keyword is set, AltText.ai uses it automatically.
-
Yes. The plugin integrates with both WPML and Polylang. When you add a translation for an image in either system, AltText.ai can automatically generate alt text in the target language — for over 130 languages. Translations are charged at 1 additional credit per language per image. WordPress Multisite networks running multilingual subsites are also supported.
