Refund Policy

Sometimes you need to cancel, sometimes billing issues arise, sometimes our system has problems. This page covers how we handle refunds so you know what to expect.

The Basics

After we process your images, we can't undo that work. We typically can't refund used credits.

We do look at things case by case though.

Subscriptions & Canceling

You can cancel anytime. Go to Account → Plan in your dashboard and select Cancel. Or contact us if you need assistance. Whatever charges happened before you canceled are still your responsibility though.

Pro tip: Canceling only stops future billing—it doesn't undo charges that already happened. Want to avoid your next payment? Cancel before the billing date.

Missed Your Cancellation?

This happens frequently. If you meant to cancel but forgot, and now you have an unexpected charge, contact us as soon as possible.

Timing matters here. If you haven't touched those new credits yet and you reach out quickly, we can usually work something out. Can't guarantee anything, but we'll definitely take a look.

When We Mess Up

Sometimes our system has technical issues. When that happens, we'll make it right with credits or sometimes refunds:

  • System failures: Alt text just didn't generate at all
  • Quality issues: When the AI generates unusable results
  • Double-charges: Same image processed twice because of a bug
  • Outages: You couldn't use the service due to system problems

Each case is different, but if it's our fault, we'll determine how to resolve it. Credits can't be converted to cash, and if you delete your account, they're permanently lost.

Billing Problems

Wrong Credit Card

Charged the wrong card by accident? Message us right away. Sometimes we can reverse it and charge the right card instead. Depends on timing and what our payment processor allows.

Invoice Issues

Need a different billing address? Missing VAT number? Invoice details wrong? Sometimes we can cancel everything, refund you, and let you sign up again with the right info. Not always possible, but worth asking about.

AppSumo Deals

If you got AltText.ai through AppSumo, we can't help with refunds. That's all handled on AppSumo's end through their support. Different companies, different policies.

Accidents & Duplicates

Bought twice by mistake? Signed up for the wrong thing? Let us know within a day or two. Sooner is better. We might be able to refund one of them or merge your accounts.

Bank Disputes (Important!)

If you already called your bank to dispute a charge, we're stuck until you cancel that dispute. Bank disputes freeze everything on our payment system. Next time just contact us first—we can usually sort things out way faster than banks can.

Referral Credits

Credits earned from referring people cannot be refunded or converted to cash. Use them or lose them when you close your account.
